Facing steady growth and the need for more functional space, EEA Consulting Engineers, a growing MEP engineering firm with offices across Texas and New Mexico, recently renovated its Austin headquarters to better serve its team. In partnership with interior design firm S. Tipton Studio, the two-story office now supports collaboration, reflects the company’s brand, and makes room for continued expansion.
The 17,000-square-foot space located at 7300 FM 2222 includes a mix of private offices, open workstations, a break lounge connected to an outdoor patio and a dedicated training room, an essential addition for team development.
“We feel like we have a space that matches our culture,” said Todd Schmitt, CEO of EEA. “Our new home helps foster collaboration, learning, and productivity, while still being able to enjoy each other’s company which is a big part of who we are as a firm.”
With a goal of balancing reuse with thoughtful upgrades, EEA and S. Tipton Studio preserved approximately 50% of the existing interior finishes while layering in EEA’s distinctive orange and blue brand colors. S. Tipton Studio also collaborated with EEA to modernize the lighting package and created a variety of workspaces, including private offices and open workstations, tailored to the needs of a growing and evolving team. The success of this project is a testament to the collaboration and expertise shared by the entire EEA team.
“This was one of the most seamless projects we’ve led, and that’s due to the transparency and trust everyone brought to the table,” said Ragan Wood, designer at S. Tipton Studio. “This space tells the story of where EEA is headed, not just where they’ve been.”
Construction, led by M+ Builders, began in October 2024 and wrapped in February 2025.
